What is wrong with the pump?

I had a (ZZR) pump that worked fine for ages, then all of a sudden wouldn't work.

I took it off and replaced it with another (second hand) one.

Never bothered to look inside it, but when someone else on here was stuck, I decided to have a look at the old pump. Tried it across a battery and it pumped straight away. Took the black plastic end cap off and the insides were covered in rusty residue. (Sudden realisation that the blat before it stopped working was done in very heavy rain! Doh!)

Quick scrub with a toothbrush and some WD40 and it all works OK now!

Might be worth a try with yours.

If you are really stuck, you can borrow my spare pump to see if that fixes it. Then either pay me back when you get back in work or send it back if / when my current pump fails!?

Sound reasonable?

Mike

Mike,

I have a small facet pump which is not pumping enough through.

I posted a thread yesterday about the rolling road result and the folks on there said to dump the facet and go with a standard R1 pump.

Others also said that uprating to another facet or red top with a regulator did nto work well either.

Cheers
Rich
