Supercharging bits

Long shot, but its worth a try.

Looking for some duratec bits:

Set forged pistons (either 9:1 or std 10:1 CR)

Set forged rods

Bypass valve (aftermarket copy of bosch type - like Forge 007p)

Small intercooler to fit inside the nose cone.

Cheers,
David

ive got an intercooler sat in the garage somewhere,
Can give it a measure if you want?
It came off a mk2 golf g60 and its quite a small thick one as it was fitted inside the engine bay rather than across the front of the car

I've got a MKII Discovery intercooler in the shed. Might be a bit wide for your needs though. I'll measure it tonight.

I think i have a spare bypass valve from my old Leon Cupra somewhere, its the bosch plastic one as i upgraded to a Forge unit, dont know if it would work or if i still have it but, if it would be of use i can look round in the garage for you.

Check out Saab BOVs. they're plastic but they're light and they're basically the same as the Forge units.
I think they're Saab 9000 turbos. Got mine on Ebay for a fiver...
Nice little recirculating BOV. Not so good for blowers with a CR but for Roots they're nice. For centrifugals a non-recirc is usually preferable...

Here's the Saab unit:

It's all to do with the fact that Roots type blowers don't have compression ratios (they're constant displacement blowers) so if you put the blower output into the blower input (ie recirculate) you gain no extra heat and you save the energy required to suck air through the filter. And the air's already in the system for you to plant the throttle and ram it into the engine...

Blowers with a compression ratio meanwhile will recirculate the air getting hotter and hotter until you finally get back on the throttle just in time to dump a load of super heated air into the engine

So fixed displacement constant-CR blowers like Roots are best with recirc BOVs but other types (including turbos) usually do better with a non recirc BOV (though they're noisy so lots of OEM cars use re-circ valves to keep the noise down).....

At least that's my recollection of Corky Bells wonderful book on the subject
