WTD Scrap metal strips
Anything 2 - 3mm thick and in lengths of at least 500mm if poss.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Get your old jeans on, and a dirty white t-shirt, and go hunting to all the local engineering workshops, or anywhere with a scrap metal skip.
Tell them you need some offcuts to finish a college project (for you or a "Son" . Or just offer them £10 for a few offcuts in the
skip....
