desperate need......prop shaft bits
hi all....i need the bits to make a prop shaft on my car....i need to link between the sierra type 9 gearbox and the mk2 escort rear axle....
can anyone help?

for all your bespoke parts, ali welding, waterjet, laser, folding, turning, milling, composite work, spraying, anodising and cad drawing....

I used Autoprop - no problem at all. I paid about £110 (+ P&P) for a prop Type 9 to Escort
diff.

ETA it was 4 years ago, so the price might have gone up

I paid £150 all in just a few weeks ago for a brand new prop made to my dimensions from Bailey Morris in Cambs. It's for a type 9 to English
Axle and has 2 heavy duty Universal Joints. Was a bit cheaper with std UJ's but not much. Thoroughly recommend them.

Second for Autoprop ^^ The other two main prop companies I know of were much more expensive for mine and one let me down badly (and cost me
money!).
The guy there seemed very knowledgable and down to earth, had time to talk etc..

Personalty i wouldn't recommend autoprop although they are probably the cheapest, had my first trt prop from them it always went through a
vibration period between 100-110 mph after a number of phone calls continually being fobbed off with check this and check that ect i took it to Bailey
Morris who checked it out and immediately condemned it 
I now have a Bailey Morris prop fantastic quality and service.

I too am wary of autoprop. Especially after a prop he balanced lost its weights, and when returned were fixed in a very different place (and a
different size )
The other nasty was when he used to blow weld holes in the props, but he may have improved.

No No No. DO NOT make your own, you cannot ensure the ends are square or balance it.

Ive still got the prop if it wasn't cold in the garage i would take some pics of the crap quality of the welding.
Bailey Morris did tell me how far out of true and balance it was but cant remember now!

I used Dunning and Fairbank in Leeds, great job well please. Their are some things that you can skimp on during your build, the prop isn't one
of them mate. Not unless you've got all the gear that is that can weld it square and balance it up properly.
Just my 2 pence thats all.

we have a company up the road from me that will ballance it..i have no problems with welding it square.....
