I made mine for £70 and its 700mm cube.
Not as nice as the commercial ones, but works just as well and its big enough to get a Land Rover Wheel rim into it!
The steel was £25 and the gun £25.
A cheap bulkhead light from B&Q. about £3.
The rubber gauntlets cost £12 off Ebay.
They lasted about 5 years now. and the rubber perished, rather than wore out.
The window is the problem area, as the perspex I used is now opaque.
However you can buy the stick on transparent squares from Machine Mart Spares people. its not available in the shops. Then make the window either full
or half the size of the protector squares.
An old hoover from the re-cycle yard to use as forced air extraction.
A sponge over the air outlet on the inside of the cabinet as a filter, and the hoover piped to that.
I got a panasonic hoover as it had micro filters as well.
Make sure the door seals well. I used draught excluder tape! Neoprene sticky tape would be better as its wider, and most locosters have some lying
about!
I also wear an industrially filtered facemask, just incase it leaks dust. Its not the sort of stuff you want to have in your lungs. You can never be
too safe in that area.
Finally I have a 14CFM compressor, the Cabinet makes it run continuously but copes very well. A good high capacity flowing compressor is a MUST if you
are serious about a sand blaster.
It may not be as quick to use as my local sand blasting company's kit, but it all works quite well.
Just my 2p worth.
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Best Regards
Geoff

To protect your window use florists celophane, place under the glass/plastic window then change when it gets difficult to see through.

Thanks for the replies folks. I may see if I have time to make a cabinet. I have a blast gun but it makes a mess!! I can use that but stick a sucky
hose on it.
