Help! Avon Propshaft Grease Nipple
Just checking the Avon over for testing at Cadwell later and a track day tomorrow- noticed the front propshaft grease nipple has fallen off! It was
there a week or so ago....
Not much grease thrown out but perhaps more to come before the propshaft explodes, so where can I get a propshaft nipple near Stamford, Cadwell or
Bedford today?
Does anybody local please have one knocking around?
Thanks!
Ed

Try a Caravan centre, their parts department will have several sizes in stock
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

It won't cause any problems as the grease that is in the cups can't escape, just plug the hole for now to stop dirt getting in.

so why have greese nipples?
I only ask as my prop has been slowly flicking out greese and I wanted to know if I should replace the greese sooner rather than later.

The "Sealed for life" UJs and the type with the grease nipple only differ in that the latter has a threaded hole for the grease
nipple.
If grease is coming out the seals have probably been damage by over greasing --- not a major problem.
as sufficient grease will always be trapped in the cups by centrifugal force,
