WTD: Steel Tank\cylinder
Hello All
I need a steel tank or cylinder for the hydraulic tank for the log splitter that I'm building.
I could ( and might have to ) make one but it will speed things up a bit if anyone has got one lying around.
It needs to be at least 30 litres capacity, doesn't need to be any bigger.
An old air receiver from a compressor would do or something like.
Has anybody got anything ?

I have a gas cylinder you can have WHEN YOU COME AND COLLECT THE OTHER STUFF!! Sorry, was I shouting?

Sorry Owelly - I haven't forgotten - been really busy with work - it does get in the way!
I WILL make it over in the next couple of weeks 
I don't suppose the gas cylinder is purged and perfectly safe for me to weld

When you say purged and ready to weld, does that mean half full of gas? I'll soon knock the piller valve off and fill it with water......

I have an empty BOC CO2 cylinder if you want it. I cant get rid of it and BOC wanted to charge me to take it back as i'm not a customer.
Unsure of capacity but it stands up to about hip height and is about 6 inches diameter.
Yours if you want it.

Does it need to be pressure rated, if not, you can buy your hydraulic fluid in a 25l steel drum, if that big enough ....

If you don't want that large a tank Go to a garage that does air con and ask it they have an empty cylinder. They are disposable and a nice
small size.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Sorry Luke it would be too small. A pub might take it off you, it sounds like a pub bottle.

Thanks Hugh - I've bought the oil, it came in a plastic container.
I think an oil drum would be too thin for me to weld the ancillaries to.

Thanks Pete, any idea of the capacity of them ? Needs to be 30litres.
