Zetec blacktop single throttle plenum
Hi Guys,
With all the talent and skills on here, is there anybody out there that could make a single throttle body plenum chamber like the one that
Kitspares make but with inlet plate with fixings and holes for
the injectors from a blacktop?
I understand that this would be quite a bit of work and I wish I had the equipment to do it as there does seem a market for this? If not, has anyone
used the original mondeo inlet manifold (the plastic one) cut down as the injector inlet plate? Again this would obviously need milling down to
flatten it off?
Anyone interested?

Hi Mate, I believe if you are after the plastic mondeo one, Gbs would cut it down for you for a fee.

The one Gbs sell will take the plastic mani from a blacktop. Its more or less just the fuel rail thats differant on the silvertop as it uses Side feed
injectors.
This mani is a bargain if still available and can be made to work.
They are still Hi Z injectors and the Tb flange is the same. It just wants a small mod so the maf can see the idle flow.
Its much like the ones I modify. Infact I would of bought that one aswell but couldnt be arsed to fetch when I have one sat on the bench.
Finished this one today, just got to get it blasted and coated.
Have you got your engine in yet ? I could do with testing it when ive done the loom

Hey big_wasa
Far from fitting mine at the moment as I am still waiting for my chassis.
Your welcome to test it out on my engine if you want, changed the cam belt today. If you wanted to bolt it to mine and put the engine in the stand
that you had before. We could try the loom out if you like too.
To get the plastic inlet manifold to work I am going to have to get it skimmed down on a mill.
Did manage to get this knocked up at work for an idle bypass though

Looking good, just a little chunky. Any reason for not buying the Gbs mani' ?

No, I will probably end up getting the GBS manifold but wanted to know if anyone else could knock something up and also if the plastic injector plate
could be used?
Is there a specific thickness for the manifold plate, I may have to get the same guy to mill this down that did the bypass block if its possible?
Yes the block is a bit chunky and it was a test piece. Will have to see if it works and maybe redesign. I see you have included the bypass in your new
plenum, be interesting to see how that works, alot less chunky than mine
Let me know if you want to try your plenum out somehow

I know it will work but I am also interested in how it will fit in the engine bay as it has longer runners than the one in my car.
The things I could make with the tools you have access to.

I'm on me way to making a plenum with a single TB.. I'm using the St170 inlet (front bit) with a plenum, fed through the ST TB..
I'll be posting some pics soon, just need to sort out getting it to fit under the bonnet and making it solid enough ofr my project

Will be interested to see how that works out, be sure to post back with some pictures of your progress.
With the group of talent and resources available on this forum we can make and achieve so much.
Does anyone else have a different version of the Zetec single plenum?
