ipad2 wanted, where to buy

Hi all,

SWMBO has decided she wants an ipad2. Just wondered where is the best place to buy from? Ive seen new ones on e-bay for £299 delivered. Does not need to be unlocked sim type, as long as its wi-fi.

Im just not convinced that e-bay is a good place to buy such a thing as any fault/repair will be a pain, or am I just being too cautious?

Any ideas would be a help

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy

I got my wife's direct from Apple.

Bought through Quidco so got some money back.

I went for a 32Gb one - it's meant to be refurbished ( big saving ) - but I swear it is brand new and untouched, not even a finger mark on it. Full warranty from Apple, can't go wrong.

The only downside is it seems to be velcroed to her hands !!

HTHs

Rob

Hi,

Just to back up what has been said above, the Apple Refurbished store is the best place to get them by far. You do indeed get a functionally and cosmetically perfect unit with full warranty. These units actually go through more stringent QA testing than production units before being packed up and resold. For legal reasons they cannot be sold as new but in all practical ways they *are* new.

Also remember that Apple gear commands high resale value so if you decide to upgrade in a year or two then you can get decent money for your old iPad or if you choose to gift it to someone in the family then they can expect further useful life from it. The high resale value and inherent risk of getting ripped off, makes it unattractive to buy from eBay although to be fair there are some reputable suppliers on there who also refurbish iPads albeit to a lesser standard to Apple with some cosmetic damage permitted and usually only the balance of the manufacturers warranty to cover it.

Good luck, I hope you get fixed up soon. Trust me, you won't regret getting it!
