Welder Wanted
I know this comes up a lot, but there never seems to be any real resolution as to what to go for!
I have a budget of about £250, £300 absolute max and I want to get a decent welder. Something you don't need to modify to get a decent feed and
will weld maybe up to 6-8mm plate? Vast majority will be from 1mm to say 4, but you never know!
I've used the flux coated stuff and it isn't for me, I get far cleaner results with gas.
Anyone who knows their stuff able to advise the best welder to go for?

Hi I've also been looking for a while the favourite seems to be the Clarke TM160 slightly outside your price bracket though the 10% off for
locosters might bring it within. also check out the mg welding forum as there are other suppliers that do a better price than MM

All the best with the purchase

I was in your same position for the last couple of weeks, however was getting desperate and managed to pick up an old Oxford 200 for £350. Big heavy
machine but it works very nicely indeed.
I figured it was best to get better makes, more industrial and slightly bigger heavier machines second hand than buying a newish clarke. Just keep
searching ebay
