Just make sure the sensor aligns in the middle of the pin, you can make fine adjustments within the tuning software your using.
Duratec Engine is fitted, MS2 Extra V3 is assembled and tested, engine running, car now built. IVA passed 26/02/2016

You don't need the engine at TDC to put a new crank sensor on, you just need to line it up properly.

I asked a while ago to borrow an alignment tool, got the same response as you, So I best guessed the sensor position, the engine fired up straight
away.
I didn't set the engine to TDC first just aligned the sensor centrally on one of the teeth, if it lines up on one, it lines up on them all.

You would only need the engine TDC if you were setting the engine timing and then putting the trigger wheel on. There is a marked tooth that ends up
about 11o'clock if I remember rightly.
To put the sensor on as mentioned you just need to line it up with the trigger wheel, no need to set to TDC.

I started mine today using Omex 600. I just fitted the crank pos sensor and didn't even check the TDC as I bought the engine but didn't
remove any of the internals or the pulley.
Mind you as I was about to turn the key I did think about it!!! But it started, thank the lord!!
