Wanted: Cider Press (short notice)
Anybody got a cider press they don't need/want - would like to press some apples over the next week!
Thanks,
Pavel

I have one down in Southampton you could borrow...!?It is home made - not difficult to make with a car jack, some threaded rod and some wood!

Plenty of plans on the web, knocked mine up from some construction timber and used a hydraulic bottlejack. Old net curtains with a faily coarse weave
are ideal for the 'cheeses' and collected it all in my beer fermenting bin.
Used a 'paint stirrer' in a large plastic builders bucket to 'scrat' the apples first as they need to be well mashed or they
won't press.
Never under estimate the ingenuity of an idiot!

Dont ya just LOVE this site... I've been thinking of this as well just a couple of weeks ago.
Downside is that just havent had the time to pursue it all
I almost think that no subject is off topic!!
