Di Noc
Gong to cover the dash with the Di Noc carbon look, any ideas for the best place to go for the materials and any pointers on fitting it?
Was going to send it out but thought may have a go myself.

I purchased it from carbon mods they were the cheapest I could find at h etime. It's pretty easy to work with just make sure that the heat gun
isnt set at too high a heat. I believe there are some how to videos on you tube.

Got mine from 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fibre Vinyl Wrap 30x120cm CA-421 fiber | eBay
PushAuction
Di-Noc is very forgiving, it can be pulled off, reheated with a hair dryer and refitted. It has a unique adhesive layer
that means you don't use water when fitting, buy the fitting tool, it makes it a lot easier
Look on You-tube, there are loads of how to's .

It'll be really easy to apply on a flat surface, it gets awkward on curves but still very easy. I would strongly recommend you make sure your
surface is perfectly clean and smooth before you apply it. A wipe down with IPA is also a good idea.
When I wrapped my bike, it turned out that specks of dirt or even tiny chips in the paint showed up as defects in the vinyl. The specks could only be
felt by hand on the original surface but the vinyl emphasised them.
And I found dry application so much easier than wet, I understand the idea of wet application from my Airfix days but it just didn't work for
the one panel I tried to do wet.
I got mine off Ebay as well.

If it's just a flat surface then there are other vinyls that have exactly the same texture and look as the 3M Di-noc but a fraction of the cost.
Di-noc is around £60 per m (for the full width roll), but other vinyls that aren't classed as cast are 1/3 of the price. If you don't want
to wrap a whole dash let me know how much you need and i'll get you a price.
cheers

no worries, the roll width is 1520mm wide, so 1520mm is going to cost the same as 1300mm. 1520 x 400 would be :
£20.54 + delivery for the semi cast (suitable for flat or simpkle curves
or
£46.21 + delivery for a full cast vinyl (for complex curves and wraps like wing mirrors etc)

That seems a bit expensive compared to Ebay prices? Or here;
http://www.mdpsupplies.co.uk/vwcarbonfibre.asp
The top one is a cast vinyl for £28 per metre, or there is a polymeric a bit lower down for half that?

I do believe that the 3M Di Noc is easier to work with and more forgiving, my dash does have some curves and shape to it.
Thanks for the offer but I think I will stick to what people are recommending..... Not that much more expensive to what you are offering yours
at...... Thanks again!
