As ive got an escort halfshaft that needs a new bearing pressed on, (old one is off)

Have you tried bearing in the oven and half shaft in the freezer?

Failing that most garages should have a 20 ton press

Thanks Mark,

The halfshaft is to big for my freezer, and the oven will melt the rubber on the bearing, plus the psatic ball bearing cage !

Ah well, do you have anyone close that does agricultural vehicles, they have bigger presses. I can give you some contacts in East Sussex but its a bit of a drive from Crawley to Robertsbridge.
