carb wanted

Wanted for my brother who is not on here yet, he ha just bought a robin hood 2b, 1600 ohc but needs a carb. It's fitted with a twin Webber, anyone got anything suitable to fit.

Also have pair of 40s on manifold with linkage currently set up for 1.8 pinto but have enough jets etc to set up for 1.6

I know he has a set of twin 40s but hes not sure what they came off, he just looking to get it running,he's been told it got a problem with the diafram and or float and the fuel inlet is just pushed in. I have not had a look at to see.

Tell him not to be afraid of having a look at the 40s and servcing them there is no majic about webers easy to work on i would need to know what jets emulsion tubes air correctors all have numbers on them easy to remove and put back my number 07933787810

I will speak to him later as he was on night shift last night, his car is still at the garage ( iwould have not used them personally) i will have to have a look at the carbs for him as i think it would send him into a panic.
He has just went through about 4 throttle cables trying to get the right one.

Easiest throttle cable is a good quality pedalbike rear brake cable and a solderless nipple. Customise to the best lengths for inner and outer.

spoke to him last night and he is going to stick with a simple carb and sell his twin 40s with manifold, the cables he was getting was for the original carb.

I have a weber 34ich on a pinto manifold that was running on my 1.6 pinto before swapping to twin 40s.

good man never say die why go slower when you can go faster if he needs some advise on jetting let us know

when he bought the car these were supplied and when he rang the guy about the existing carb he asked why not use the twin 40 as the were jetted for the engine and just needed setting up.
