WTD: (URGENTLTY!) Cortina Upright drivers side
Anyone got or know anyone who's selling (private or commercially) some Cortina uprights?
My mate was just fitting some new calipers and he's sheared off one of the bolts that holds the caliper on in the upright. I know its possible
to extract this but we have a trackday booked on Saturday and as a back up plan I'm trying to find a replacement upright. It was also very
tight when it sheared and there's no thread showing.
Anyway just need a drivers side one but will take a pair as long as they aren't silly money.
I'm scanning the web and old "garage clearout" threads but please feel free to point out any that seem obvious!
Thanks in advance...

Hmm not cheap for a rusty pile!
There's a chance we can get the bolt out but if someone had an upright for not too much wedge we could throw that on and worry about it later...

What Jon says. Centre punch the bolt as close as you can to centre. Drill out with progressively larger drills. The thread should be M12, which is a
10.2 tapping drill so you should be safe with up to a 10mm drill. If you get that far you can then just use a centre punch and scribe to pick out the
bits of remaining bolt.
I would be suprised if you dont start to see the broken bolt moving after you have been drilling a while. The heat generally frees them off.

I've got a set but I'm a bit far away - I am going to Curborough (near Tamworth) on Friday afternoon / night though if that helps?

cant you remove the disc and extract from the opposite side sometimes the bolt can protrud through
Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

I may have a pair that I could send you next day. Would have to be a pair though.
Give me 10 minutes and I'll go and check.

No longer needed - managed to drill out the old one and run a tap through it. Its M12x1.75 as flak monkey said.
Thanks for checking though guys!
