WTD: Some tube with a nut welded on the end
Hi Guys,
Bit of a long shot as i don't have a welder...
I need 2 lengths of tube with a nut welded on the end.
The tube would need to be 20mm internal diameter and around 8 inches and just needs a thread on one end, as big as a nut as you can fit which i think
is about an m12.
Again, after 2 of these.
If anyone can help, please let me know!
Regards,
Andy

What wall thickness and how critical is the id? I've got bit of galved conduit 20mm id, 2mm wall.

Material and thickness doesnt really matter.
It's to essentially put the front indicators on stalks so that they protrude far enough to be seen from all angles by mr. IVA.
As long as they aren't made out of plastic then should be ok!

we onlyhave thick wall tube that size which would really slow your car down
there is however some 1" ali bar that could be bored / tapped- presumably it is hollow for wires to thread through?

I plan on using an old lamp support:

they are pre threaded, hollow, stainless and avialable at most tips (allthough I got mine from the house when they were ready to be thrown out)

This is how I did mine...
15mm copper tube with an M8 nut knocked into each end and glued in place (could be soldered I guess). The bike indicator had a hollow M8 bolt with
the wires going through it and I drilled a hole through another M8 set screw for the end that fits to the nose cone so that the wires could go through
that as well. This was secured to the nose through an M8 hole and a couple of large diameter penny washers to spread the load. The two sections of
black tape are just to get the right diameter for a cosmetic bit of plastic sleeve (a couple of £ from B&Q), sprayed to match, to tightly fit over
the top. The blue plastic nut in the second picture is cosmetic only and is a plastic pumbing nut. It may have to come back off to meet IVA radius
requirements.
