Cheap electric speedo?
Does such a thing exist? I've been looking around and they seem almost as much as an entry level digi dash?!
If its a case of spending that much on one dial I'll sell my existing gauges and buy redo the dash and fit a digi dash.

Look at the rmd ones at rally design. Good quality (made by the same lot that make smiths if I remember rightly?) And something like 90+vat+post,
which is still cheaper than others pre vat prices

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Need the sender on top of that though so actually more than a basic digi dash!
ETA if that us about cheapest I need to either find a second hand one or seriously consider re doing my dash.

To be fair, that's more of a comment on the quality of entry level digi-dashes than the price of electronic speedometers! The RMD branded
instruments from Rally Design are very good however, I can recommend them.
The senders are standard industrial proximity senders, made by numerous different companies. If someone get get the part number we could almost
certainly find an equivalent for a fraction of the price. I replaced the speedo sensor on my Aprilia RSV1000 (£70 from dealer) with an industrial
sender that cost a fiver on eBay.

Fair point well made. Just frustrating as my dash is a mix of different style gauges for now until I decide what to do long term post IVA so
didn't want to have to spend a lot on it now. May look at going down speedy cables route for the one I have instead if I can't work out
what gear I I have!
