be careful with that, they sit about an inch higher than the other type 9 mount.

The distance between the holes is narrower. I built a plate to bolt it to and then bolted the plate to the chassis and the gearbox. I used a big nut on each side of the chassis mount as a washer to drop it down a bit. Much better than the sierra one that I had before. There is less movement.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the info. Would be glad if you could clarify how you used a plate to lower the mounting. Do you have a photo in your archive?

Most motor factors will stock or be able to get one for you.I bought a Sierra one a couple of years ago for under a tenner.
The Sierra one works fine in my car .

Thanks Paul, will take this route first but if none with factors can go down the Caterham route. I think Andrew has 'underslung' his mounting by fixing it under the chassis?

I'm trying to work out a way of fixing my g/b mount. At the moment it's held in place by the box's weight sat ontop of the frame, but the bolt holes aren't in a position to be able to bolt it through to the chassis as the holes are half over the frame.
Anyone got any suggestions?
