Bolts needed
I have bought a Mk2 escort engine and box and there are no bolts to attach the 2 together, or for the starter or flywheel or clutch, any idea where I
can get them from? preferebly posted.

if its a mk2, then it should all be metric i think? isn't there any fairly big hardware (not b&q or homebase ) shops near you at all?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Please; don't use hardware bolts for such fastenings, proper bolts or at least grade 8 or better with the proper shank length.

Tried buron's, not very helpfull, told me to go to loval hardware store, no sizes, lengths, what grade of steel to ask for nothing, even though
they list some of the bolts in their catalogue. Not using them in the future if I want anything, appaling service.

The two bolts at the top that screw into the block are UNC, the others that screw into the gearbox are metric.

I've always had good service from Burtons until recently , perhaps a new member of staff isn't up to scratch? Pretty sure that the clutch
bolts are 5/16" UNC , top bell housing bolts are 3/8" UNC, the engine mounting bolts are again 5/16"UNC exhaust studs are
5/16" UNC on the part that screws into the head but 5/16"UNF on the part the nut screws onto. Most of the other bolts that screw into the
block are UNC if not all. The bolts that screw into the bell housing may depend on what the gear box came out of? but may well be 10mm
May have a spare flywheel to crank bolt that I will try to measure if I can find one?
