1.6 Crossflow bits

on the off chance has anybody got a 1.6 head for a cross flow as i have been told my cars running a 1.3 head. I would like a stage 2 or 3 but even a standard 1.6 head would be better that whats on there.

cheers

I thought the heads were the same and it was just the bottom end that differed??

Mmm thats what I thought, I thought the only thing that could differ is if the valves had been changed to hardened jobbies so unleaded could be used.

I'm sure the crossflow experts will be along shortly, I'm a pinto guy!

Cheers

i think they are essentially the same with very minor differences.

Have a read of this:

Doesn't give all the info, but shed some light at least

Standard valves are different sizes on different capacity xflow engines. Haynes escort manual has the details.

I'll see if I can find them..

I have a few x flow heads in Cambridge but you would have to collect. Might help if you put your location in your profile?

I've got a 1.6 GT unleaded head I could sell you.... the 1.6GT head had slightly bigger valves and this head I seem to recall was a stage 1 head from either Specialised Engines or Vulcan (it's been a while so the receipt has gone awol) so it's had some very gentle porting and 3 angle valve seats. It was bought in error and it was only used for a couple of weeks so it's near mint. Including valves and springs etc £150 plus postage?

Plus I've got a set of steel rocker gear I'd include for £200 plus postage

Cheers

Dave

I'm based near Southampton. I'm interested in your unleaded head. Would you be able to give me a rough idea on postage costs. I'm on a really tight budget at the moment. I would change out for a zetec or bike engine but I really can't afford it.
