HA HA £200 Zetec Engine i thought back in 2006, which i thought was a good buy !!!

£3000- £4000 later for ancillaries, lightend flywheel, shortened sump, water rail, hydraulic clutch, ecu throttle boddies etc, it ran but not very good so took it for a tune £500 then £1000 for port and polish and cams when it was there and then £1000 when it failed SVA first time, Then £500 on engine when it failed second time, then it failed IVA as we thought it was throttle boddies and ECU i replaced them at a cost of £1300

Along with all the filters, hoses etc its got too be well over 10K on a fricken £200 engine.

Nearly lost my house and my job not long back, so struggling for money now, but my brother is going to pay for my engine this time and it has to be the last spent on my kitcar other wise its getting scrapped. im totally sickened.

could someone on here not lend you a spare engine for the IVA test? Does it have to be a blacktop or would a silvertop do?

Lightened Flywheel is differant size and aligns with hydraulic clutch plate and then its the ecu etc

Im totally lost when it comes to fitting/playing with engines.

no - doesn't matter so long as it's not an ST170 version.

You will most likely need to swap the sump and pickup over from the old engine, though.

So long as the sump will fit, either silver or blacktop should work...

Black top only i recon, as ive got water rail, differant mounts for alternator, Sump will have too be swapped over? Sure someone said that holes/fixings may be differant as ive used a lot off the block holes for engine mounts and alt brackets etc etc
