Problems with a part-build

Nightmare. I'm just getting my head round what I've got in my part-build (red top c20xe with a Manta gearbox). I've discovered two major problems:

In order to avoid the bottom of the inlet manifold interfering with the steering column, the previous owner has sliced the bottom of the manifold off!! There's a 1 inch square hole at the bottom.

The gearbox casing is touching the vertical rail to the left of where the pedal box would go/to the right of the front of the transmission tunnel.

Can anybody offer any advice or reassurances?

Id strongly suggest binning the standard injection system and going bike throttle bodies or similar. More power and much easier to fit.

Also sounds like either the engine isn't central in the tunnel or it's too far back into the tunnel. I'll await the pictures to make my final comments

The first pic shows the gearbox housing fouling the upright.

The second pic (taken upside down) shows the bottom of the inlet manifold with an approx 1" square section removed!

Any thoughts?

Errr from what i can tell the engines too far into the transmission tunnel or too far over to one side.

The inlet manifold is cast so a real pain if you want to weld it. I'd still go with the replacing with carbs/ tb's
