Wtd: Vertical Milling Machine

As title. Im on the lookout for a vertical milling machine that will fit in the shed, but not too small.

Like this, but with / without pedestal;

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Yes, that is an excellent price for a new machine. Ideally though, im after a used machine in good order for less. Whats there to miss?

You could use a horizontal mill and a right angle block on the bed, it will cut just the same for much cheapness and swarf is cleared by gravity.

Do not forget collets etc are expensive.

It could be well worth your while phoning the sales guys at Axminster and explaining your needs - they occasionally get recons or models that are no longer featured in current catalogue- that's howwe got our litle miller!
give it a go

Thankyou Guys.

The link was really just an idea of size rather than cost!

Horizontal will be difficult to machine flywheels etc, hence wanting vertical.

Hi
I have a Warco minor (same model type as above) Now with a DIY CNC kit.
Great for hobby type use, but only light cuts.
Mine has also seen at least 10hrs use a month recently.

Just one major thing I would check for, is any ware in the spindle area.
I could move mine 0.5mm back and forth.

This make milling difficult.
