Car for Rust2Rome
Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a car for rust2rome. I don't know exactly what I want, but I do have a list of things that I would like. If you
have anything sitting around or know of anything anywhere that meets this list then let me know:
*Less than 2L if petrol, nothing smaller then a 1.3.
*Reasonably sized (Saloon, Estate etc. Would take something like a golf if the price is right)
*Good runner
*Current MOT and Tax (The longer the MOT the better)
*Reasonable MPG
*Four good tyres and a decent spare
*Power Steering
*Low Insurance group (No 7 series BMW's!)
*Comfy (doing around 4000 miles in it in a few days)
*Good Brakes
*Located withing a maximum of 100 miles of LU7 post code, unless your willing to deliver for very reasonable money.
Must be less than £300, but the cheaper the better. It's going to get ragged around Europe so I'm in no means looking for a minter.
Let me know what you have

What does MGP stand for ? Not "Major Good Puller" is it ? If so i think you're going to struggle for under £300.
I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Mate's son has a Proton F/S - last (poss orig owner) was a pensioner so reckon it might be half decent.
We had thought about it for R2R but decided we wouldn't get our passes signed.
It's in Reading so if interested drop me a U2U and i'll see if it's still available.

Easiest way for such a motor would just be to cruise a round a few back streets and look out for something with a hand written for sale notice in the
windscreen. Not rocket science.

I have to say that you are going to have to compromise seriously in several departments

At the current price of scrap, wrecks are bringing about £150 round here. And you want one with tax and test for £300??!!
You'll have to be very lucky (try ringing round dealers for part-ex's) or up your budget to the R2R limit of £500!! Good luck.
