Pinto Engine Wanted 2.0 or 2.1
Hi, I'm looking for a good Pinto Engine - either a 2.0 or 2.1, preferably of performance standard and not bog standard.
Give me a call on 077251 21822 if you have something.
Cash waiting..

Pinto engine,
How soon do you need the engine ? I have a very recently rebuilt Pinto engine. The previous owner spent £ 1000 on having this rebuilt by a
professional engine builder. It has done less that 2k miles since the rebuild, runs a sweet as a nut and can be heard running - and driven in my
MK.
The rebuild included:
new unleaded valve seats,
seals,
gaskets,
heavy duty oil pump
spray bar
cam followers
bores rehoned
piston rings
big and small ends
big end bolts
crank oil seals, oil filter
high pressure oil pump and sensor
heavy duty sump gasket.
The Po cannot be entirely sure whether the crank was reground or just had new bearings fitted.
The engine is in my MK and can be heard running. You are welcome to come down and try it in the car , im in SS1 3BJ. The performance is good and it
runs very smoothly as one would expect for a recently rebuilt engine. I would need a small deposit before removing it from the car.
The engine includes a distributor and would be sold with a exhaust (cast) manifold, standard pinto sump but without a flywheel.
Im open to offers over £ 250 - It's a perfectly running, very recently rebuilt engine and thats a quarter of the price it cost to rebuild.
I am in the process of rebuilding another Pinto engine with a modified head and high lift cam hence the sale.
Chris

Hi, what sort of BHP are you getting at the wheels?

I dont know but you would be very welcome to book the car into a rolling road to see
From all accounts a standard 2.0 pinto with a free flow exhaust manifold should put out something in the order of 106 to 110 bhp running with a
standard 32/36 downdraft webber and distributor ignition. That will be at the flywheel.
I'm not selling this engine on the basis of power, it is a recently rebuilt standard engine that should give years of trouble free running.
If you are looking to add power an Fr32 camshaft, thinner head gasket and bike carbs will all add power as would opening up the throats of the inlet
valves.

Whereabouts are you ? Youd be welcome to drop by and drive the car and look at the engine and if you want to go ahead just leave a small deposit so we
set it in stone and agree timescales. I need to finish off the engine I am working on and borrow an engine hoist and a friend to do the swap.

Hi, have you got any receipts for the build to prove work has been done?

The engine was rebuilt in Falkirk near where the previous owner lived at the time. You would be welcome to speak to the previous owner. I will PM
his detail over to you.

Donald I do wonder if you have wandered into the wrong place here.
You popped up on the Forum and said you wanted to buy my spare engine and proceeded to ask a whole series of questions of varying degrees of
relevance. I put you in touch with the previous owner and provided all the information i could about where the engine was rebuilt We agreed that you
wanted to collect it within a month so I went to the trouble of sourcing an extra distributor, set of ignition leads and fuel pump plus a decent heavy
duty sump gasket so you could take it away with a standard Ford sump knowing it would be ready to run and wouldn't drop any oil. You then
waited until i sent you some more pictures you asked for to announce you have bought an engine somewhere else.
I strongly suggest you do not try to mess anyone else about on the forum like this as I doubt you will find them quite as forgiving.

- No one is messing anyone about
- I needed an engine, no word for 2 weeks
- An engine came up 2 weeks after no contact
- I brought the engine
Anything else?

You were advised it would take up to a month for the engine to be ready, were consious this was because I was waiting for parts for the other engine
and at no time had you indicated this was unacceptable to you.
We were last in email contact on May 1st- which was ratehr less than a fortnight ago. We had agreed it would take up to a month and there was no
requirement for day to day communications as there was little to report until a firm date could be set. You knew this and you knew the dependancies.
If you had a change of heart and had decided to cancl the arrangement and look further afield you should have advised me soonest. Clearly I have been
foolish in not asking you for a deposit up front so that you could play silly games.
"anything else ?"
Well yes, this is the part where you stop raking through the box of thin excuses, admit you changed your mind and offer a proper appology for causing
this expense and inconvenience.
