1600 zetec short block?

Gutted stood at the side of the road looking at a big hole in the side of the engine.

So a I imagine that is the bottom end and the middle well and truly fubared, maybe even the head as well so sad it had only done about 200 miles this year......

My mums 1.8 mondeo is going to the scrapie week after next and it has 10 months mot and a cracking 1.8 blacktop that's been serviced and the belts been done.

Take this one out and sling yours in the boot and weight it in for near what it cost you.

Thanks for all the replys.

The dead engine was a 1600 silver top, and had rather a special top and bottom end. I hope to salvage those, and all the ancillaries and so I am really looking for the bit in the middle,...

Any recommendations would be good, sadly I am not able to deal with a whole car,... but thank you for the thought Benchmark51.

A combination of things. A faulty hose fitting. A new gauge, and some new earplugs. So gauge didn't work . The hose leaked, and the earplugs worked too well, I missed all the signs. Hindsight is great, but on balance the only damage I have sustained, a burnl
Finger, hurt pride, and a dent in wallet, and missing the best weather for driving,

All in all it could have been far worse.
