WTD - Tin-Top (focus / c-max / etc...)

carrying on from my previous 'which tin-top' thread

I'm starting to think I'll be needing it sooner than I hoped

I'm looking for something fairly clean and tidy, but I don't care about minor dents and scratches

ideally something thats had an easy life and been well looked after with not too many miles on the clock (say 50 - 60k max)
but I don't really care how old it is as long as its 100% rot free

it must have 5 doors and a half decent size boot, but not be too big a car (or the GF won't drive it - a mondeo is too big apparently...)

i'd rather have a petrol over a diesel

budget is a bit flexible for the right car, but ideally I'm not going to spend more than £3k

from the previous thread a focus hatch or even a c-max would fit the bill nicely - but I'll consider anything similar
unfortunately I've not found that many round here and I don't really have time to drive 300 miles + to look at the ones that are coming up on autotrader/gumtree/ebay/pistonheads/etc.....

so what have you got ?

-Robert

we're considering moving our C-MAX on, but I think i fall into the 'very long way away' category.

great car though, I'd reccomend them. Wife wants a 4x4......

thats fine with me - stick up the details

I'd be quite happy to drive that far for the right car from a fellow locostbuilder
(although I would probably be asking you loads of questions about it first )

Ok, I'll take some pics.

It's a 53 plate (04 built) 1.8 petrol. Zetec spec, so air con, front elec windows and the sliding rear bench thing. Just had new windscreen, tracking, tyres, good service history, although probably due one.

newish mot, body in good but not perfect nick, no rust im aware of, tax up end of feb. been a good un for us, but wife wants 4x4 as we're in the country.

Drives as it should, everything works, average mpg is 33 since tracking.

sounds good to me so far - guess it depends on the mileage and price

Mileage is high 80s, forget exactly what but can check. We've done about 10k in last 2.5 years.

Price, no idea

no worries. Cmax's hold their value quite well, on your budget you may be pushing it to get what you're after.

Might well be better with a focus estate, I think as there is more about they're a bit better value
