A Mk1 steering rack has a long pinion shaft about 6" long IIRC.

A Mk2 rack has a short shaft (approx 1.5" long). I actually converted the rack on my car to Mk2 spec (fitted short pinion quick rack kit), and that is held to the chassis with Mk2 mounts, so I would say they are the ones you want at a guess...
