possibly - but how well have all those panels been put on and are they hiding more serious damage?

seems a bit pricey to me too

that looks dangerously close to a possible cut and shut to me, noting change on main body colour at drivers footwell

my mums partner has a original rover 200 with the vvc engine and it quite quick its very nice for a 97 and cost him £250 with panels all the same colour, alloys and mot + tax the mg is not a bargin in my eyes

barge pole, i bet when he sells that he,ll be laughing & thinking "one born every day", i wouldn,t go near it.
just my opinion tho.

Why rebody an MG? Would it not be easier/cheaper to put a decent engine in a rover?

Those are most likely anti vibration pads stuck in there from new, it looks like he's just painted the bits you can see when the carpet is in. 03 cars fetch about £1500 upwards so it might be worth a punt if you want to keep it.

doesn't look like cut and shut to me

surely if it was stripped and sopld as parts it would fetch over £500!
how much would the engine and gearbox be worth, assuming its in sound condition?
