Everything to do with me! If you're after something like this, the machine is lovely. Redundancy just isn't fun, either this, GSXR1000 or
the 7 now, the remainder later (I'll go and cry somewhere)

Hooorah for Triumph Triples!
twybrow........
If you like them I have an engine for one with down pipes for sale. How about a British BEC?
Sorry to hijack the thread.
Regards Kipper.............................aka Denis.
I ahd one of these for a while and did a 200mile a day commute on it, brilliant bike!! If i had the cash and time i'd have it off you!!
Great bike, I only used it to get to work on a sunny day.
As for a BEC, yep, these engines are *very* over-engineered. Not the lightest (but hey, everything's relative), but reliability is infamous.
Disadvantages - it's very tall. A dry sump design would help, but even so, I think you'd be struggling to fit it in the front of a 7.
However, if you predict a R1OT or something similar, then it'd be no problem. The sound would be gorgeous. The ECU doesn't need much
information to operate the engine (they use SAGEM stuff), different to most in that it's hot-wire mass induction metering (like a Mundaneo)
rather than manifold depression. No problems with speed/ABS/traction/gear/FBW/whatever, quite simple. Getting to the FI error codes, however,
isn't trivial.
I had a TL1000 in the Westfield for a year, that was a similarly 'odd' fitment, but again, the sound was fantastic.
I'm still a committed Suzukiphile, nothing else will really do.
