Could you please guide me towards learning about Private plates?

I would like one but don't know how is done.

Not really that good unless your initials are KEH or you want to space it incorrectly and get hassle from plod/MOT inspectors (all IMHO, of course )

Here is a link to the DVLA's regs on what it calls "Cherieshed transfers" - basically, you can buy and sell the right to use a particular registration, and you can also keep it on retention when you donlt have a specific vehicle (sort of like a SORN but for the registration itself). You can buy previosuly unissued registrations direct from DVLA here or other ones from dealers, or even direct from an individual.
