I would think you could get a brand new one from MCT for not much more than that!

thats a reasonable price
I got quoted £500+ for a new 3.14 crown and pinion, that was without LSD and casing.
I paid £250 for a non lsd 3.14 diff (hensteeth!).
I had 3.62 lsd (worth £100-150), took them to a local transmission guy, who built a reconditioned 3.14 lsd for £120.
Result!

Dave, that's still way too much considering whole Sierra's can be had for less than £100

But there was'nt a Sierra made with an 3.14 LSD.
I looked for quite a while for a 3.14 open diff and i've never seen one for less than £250.

You have to look for a very long time to find one of these but they do exist (I know as I have one), and yes, it was out of a Sierra.

FWIW £134 from e-bay about 4years back.

Freelander diffs are now available and good value (i.e. £100) you can get these (maybe not all) in the 3.21 ratio, which is within a sniff of the legendary 3.14 (actually this is a mis-nomer as the ratio is actually closer to 3.13). These are also a bit lighter although maybe a bit weaker.
