Newark looming, Tesco have some camping stuff on cheap....

Single airbeds £6, double £10. England chairs £5, sleeping bags, tents etc..

Just got a double cause I kept slipping off my bumpy single at Stoneliegh

seen a few tesco tents at music festivals - I wouldn't trust them in any real weather, but they arn't the worst ones out there

I used to use an ancient vango (at least 15 years old) but some numpty stood on it
so I'm now looking for a cheap replacement that can do the same job (i.e. stand up in a force 8 with horizontal rain and stay dry)
not having much luck yet

That brings back some memories! I stayed in a bright orange Vango of similar vintage for 3.5 weeks in Iceland. Was some years ago now tho, but I suspect the tent is still around.

As for Tesco tents, one of the Le Mans crew took one last year and left it there, still up... that tell you enough?

Halfords have tent and camping gear on at reduced prices , some 1/2 price but that seens to be their own brand, probably purchased across the road from Tesco and then the price bumped up.

you mean one of these ?

I remember them being quite good, but the one I had was an earlt 90's 3 pole dome - I liked it main because you could put it up in about 3min and it survied years of abuse with gaffer tape holding the pole sleves together

I've actually got one of the new style F10's as my good tent - really wanted a teranova or a hilleberg but they are so expencive

Go outdoors have single airbeds for £5... saw them yesterday!

incase anyone has one local.

dhutch - 18/5/10 at 08:38 AM

I bought one these last year.

http://www.outdoorworld.co.uk/vango-zetes-300-tent-ensignbluebell-p-1915.html

It was about £45 at the local garden center who had one of it up, little three man two hoop tunnel, seems to hold out the wet, has a fractionally more leg room than some (im 6ft2) and was £10 less than the matching dome model with 'activity awning' thrown in...

Have used a tesco 6 berth for the last 2 years at stoneleigh and newark had no major problems with it. Plus it packs down pretty small so fits in tango

It does flex a bit in higher winds but has been OK at all 3 shows so far, no leaks etc.

Only problem we have had is the ends of some of the poles splitting.

Have used the Vango force 10s as a scout and always found them excellent bits of kit, unfortunately the Mrs doesnt like camping and tolerates it for the shows but wouldnt let me spend a lot on a tent
