Been in one, nasty thing it was
Mind seeing a crash on the telly where one pulled out in front of a cavalier (I think) it just flew through the air like a paper bag and bounced off a
lamppost about 20ft from the ground!

Christ on a bike! £2750 for a Metro!
When I was 17 I went along to an auction with a mate. He was looking for his first car. We looked at loads of decent low mileage small hatches and
saloons and he eventually settled on an Astra Merit 1.2l.
The auction started and people started bidding. Next thing I know, he's paid over the odds for a Black Metro Turbo
He paid for it, despite me trying to convince him to do a bunk!
Anyway we got about 2 miles from the auction before it died and I had to tow him home!
Cheers
Mike

My wife had a metro turbo and in its day it was a good fun little car - pretty quick, good handling and road holding. I would happily have another,
but not at the price of the one in the ad!

For me - the 5 before it would have to be a typo too to get me interested!!

you're alive!
Where have you been?
cheers

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

The worst crap my wife ever sprung on me was a green one bought before I arrived back in the UK.
It handled like a pudding had seats like park benches and a steering off a bus.
Stupidly expensive tyres.....that only one car used.
She bought it to use for work when we returned back to the UK.

My old man still has an A reg Turbo in good condition, because he spent most of his spare time pouring waxoyl into it. I swear you could hear it
sloshing around the sills!
Anyway, they were great cars to drive and handled brilliantly compared to the competition at the time, just a shame they stuck with the ropey old 4
speed box.
Somewhere I have an Autocar (I think) putting the Metro Turbo, Uno Turbo and Charade Turbo back to back, and the Metro came out head and shoulders
above the others for handling.

The Metro was a veritable brick outhouse compared to the Citroen Visa and AX!

Still alive, just!
Been really busy, hardly had time to get on here and missed the last two meets because I was elsewhere - stuck in Milton Keynes last week, when I got
home at midnight you had all left the pub! Hope to do better next month.
