A mate of mine many moons ago had an Allegro, needless to say it failed him one day, he phoned his Dad to give him a tow home so he could fix it in
safety, his Dad pitched up with a 2.8i Fourtrack and towed him up Liberton Brae (quite a steep hill in Edinburgh) faster than he could drive up it in
the Allegro

My parents used to have one, great tow car, but be aware that they rot like a fresh meat on a summers day!!
