Nice! I've seen the A series / BMW head before, but never a turbo version!
That's quite steep though, especially as you need a turbo on top!

Do I read the correclty? An A series block with BMW bike engine head?
How do they manage to fit that? Water and oil way align? Bolt holes align??? That sound lucky or is the head not water cooled?
Sounds like a god projectif you have a Mini or a Midget (the car that is, not a very short person).
So a BCEC or CBEC?

I've seen that combo before but hell's bells that's a lot of money for a 8.5 CR engine that will make diddly squat power unless you
source a turbo and do even more work on it!!

block!?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

BMW made a version of the Austin 7 under license. Maybe the K series bike engine can trace its roots back to an A series engine some how.
If I had £9000 to spend building an engine, I bet I could come up with something better than that though. I'd probably start with a V10 of some
description and balance it to rev high.

It's a reasonably popular conversion, though it's quite involved. Some of the studs and coolant passages line up, others need to be
blanked off and redrilled, and of course you have to sort the cam drive out. There are now conversion kits available to make this easier.
Some pictures of an early conversion, and a forum with lots
of info for anyone interested.

Do the BMW K series bikes have a reputation for overheating then?

One of the reasons I gave up autograss racing, thats the sort of engine you find in 5 laps round a muddy field mini
autograss racing = poor mans motorsport, not.

wheels forever, even with a slip diff!
