Lidl is doing a limited run of plasma cutters - own internal compressor 40amps and £129. I got one

Doesn't look quite the quality cut I'd want but it does look fun for turning into a CNC plasma cutter for giggles

I've been thinking about an R Tech for about a year but really can't afford it. This though....

Watch out for the current drawn on these when set to full power - originally these were sold with 16A industrial plugs, but now they just have 13A domestic ones.

They'll work well at lower settings, but full power...

Yep, I have a 16amp plug on mine. Going to buy an adapter rather than new plug

I have a tig welder with a 16amp plug. I've made a 13amp plug adapter (fused at 13 amp). Reality is 13amp plugs will run a little above 13amps for a little while. Its not an instant blow. In theory a 13amp plug will run up to 21amps.

https://www.connected-fidelity.com/news-from-connected-fidelity/why-a-british-standard-13a-rated-fuse-does-not-blow-at-13a

Now i'm not recommending this, and I don't run the tig at 100% as I don't want to push things.

If you're feeling bold, you can just use a plug with 2 neutral pins to do away with the fuse entirely. Caveat emptor etc...

Many years ago we had a linnisher that kept blowing fuse for no reason. It was cured by using a cut down 6" nail. Worked for years afterwards

A bit of 6mm bolt in my case.
