Cost effective weight loss

Morning ladies n gents...

So weight loss...

I'm running the tiger with a cbr900r engine. So weight is everything.

I know what your thinking and I've lost 3 stone in 2 years so that's me done....

So what's the most cost effective weight saving steps first please.. I have removed anything not needed to the point it sniw very much a track car only....

My thoughts wheels so I bought the TD pro race 1.2

My next thought is

uprights
Calipers
Passenger seat
Fuel tank

What uprights are strong and light?
What calipers are the lightest?
What fuel tank is best for weight?

Thanks all.....

Thanks

the calipers I have for sale are pretty light mate! and very good quality.(race proven)
uprights need to be strong and is not an area to compromise on.better with strong and sturdy than light and fragile! nice small ally fuel tank, oli Hewitt (yellowcab) has the 13" caterham wheels for sale which are light. alloy hubs maybe an option, strip the loom out for something basic more basic.(its amazing how much they weigh)I have front and rear lighting loom for sale too if needed. but battery would be biggest saving. mine is under 1kg which is 7 or 8 kg less than normal.

Daniel, thanks for the info. I have removed most of things already and my loom is about 8 wires now. Battery is an issue it weighs a lot it's a bike battery but must weigh 8-9 kg I think....

Trim is all carbon or Ali.

How much do calipers weigh and will they fit my cortina uprights :-)

Discs are oem ones non vented etc....

Thanks

mine are dynalites which are the race caliper. 133.35mm lug mounts so wont fit directly. they would fit,and do fit under a 13" wheel but a bracket would need sorting for the 133.35mm lug spacings

I'd have thought that "wheels and tyres" should be on your list..... Get some carbon/magnesium rims and you should be able to loose several kilos

This shows the different (imperial or metric) ones for the M16 fitment. Powerlite or Midilite..

See Russ (Furore)for a Li battery. That should save 4-5 kg

Don't forget wheelnuts.

oh, and I know you said you'd lost 3 stone, but if you started off weighing 20 stone then there is still some way to go

Out of interest how much does it weigh currently?

I put my blade engined Mac#1 on a weighbridge yesterday and was 480Kg with a full tank, so quite pleased with that.
