I have used ali chemical weld type products, like arldite, a few times. It is very rigid and brittle at the joins so it may not be the right stuff for anything that vibrates or expands \ contracts.

I have also used No More Nails metal sealant \ adhesive. with good effect. This stuff is a lot less solid and almost has a silicon seal feel to it. Stuck two pieces of ali together well enough that I cant get them apart again. This stuff will also be water resistant and obviously better for things that vibrate.

Good luck.

PS I take it a bit of wet \ dry cloth and elbow grease is not sufficient then?!?

I presume it's the main outlet so pretty large hole? If not, are you able to tap it and use a fitting from somewhere like Think?

Is it off an mx5? i just did mine, it had rusted through completely. I bought a brass barbed elbow off ebay and drilled and tapped the housing and then fitted the new elbow. far better than just glueing it in.
