Ali polishing

The side panels on my car are ali and want to get them nice and shiny, i have a few scratches from building it too that i would like to get rid of.
What would people recommend for polishing these panels?.

I was looking at getting an air polisher from machine mart, anygood?

What compounds should i use too? was thinking of using AutoSol as that works pretty well by hand but not sure if it would be suitable for a machine polisher.

Air polishers use a lot of air so make sure your compressor is man enough or you will get frastrated and end up not using it.

I feel your pain with ally polishing, mine was as ruff as a badgers when i bought it and i got it too look like this by hand.

I did it by hand Gav using some cheap liquid from the pound shop and although it took a lot of work, 2 or 3 goes in reality, they've come right up and look loads better. They just need a final finishing off with something decent and we're there.

I would forget the air polisher and do it by hand, better results in the long run.

hot tip...

Apply any metal polish with plenty of energy and then polish off with a soft cloth dipped in flour.

DON'T FORGET THE FLOUR, AND DON'T WEAR OR USE ANYTHING YOU DON'T WANT TO TURN "BLACK"
