Errr.. network down but can still get LBs. How?

Ok, so our network is supposidly down at work while we change Broadband suppliers. I can get nothing else - no networked drives, no websites... except this one. How can that be?

probably down to your default gateway, that is probably a firewall, and your internet connection goes through that instead of a server, so if the server goes down you still get internet

Because you use the site so heavily that virtually every page is cached in your companies proxy server?
