Nuts and Bolts - Imperial

I have reasonable quantities of UNF and UNC high tensile plated bolts in stock.

Off course these will not be the ones that you want, but you could give me a try! Some sizes there are loads, others not so many. Plain and nyloc nuts as well.

I need thread, length and quantity please, and then I can give you a price.

Cash on collection is best, Paypal is an option.

I know that you would probably have mentioned it if you had them, but, on the off chance, do you also have any BSF bolts?

Hi Colin, I'm restoring an MG TC and to keep it as original as possible I need to use BSF. I have a fairly random selection of what I need to replace those that were either missing or un-usable when I stripped the car, which was a bit of a barn find. I'll send you a U2U with a list.

I think I need 7/16" UNF bolts for my harness mounts. Do you have any & if so, what sort of lengths do you have ?

Unless anyone knows otherwise ? I'm not sure what grade I need though.

Yes they are 7/16unf. S or 8.8 grade is fine which is high tensile.

I will check sizes tomorrow

Andy I have 1in 1 1/4, 1 1/2 but most have shoulders . Do you need a bolt (with a shoulder) or a screw?

Steve U2U sent, but cannot help I am afraid. Very difficult to find other than exact 1/4in increments, even for UNF and UNC now.

I need set screws & I reckon they need to be at least 2" +

I can measure my rollcage rail if you think you have any longer ones ? Thanks

Just for interest, I work on a nuclear power station built in the 50's. All our fastenings are BSF or BSW. Our largest studs are 4" bsw approx 12ft long! But we are probably one of the last few places that use whitworth bolts in the uk. If you think metric is hard to remember bolt diameters and corresponding spanner size try remembering whitworth!

if I remember correctly, they changed whitworth spanner sizes to save 'material' as they were machined from bar.

Fazeruss can you make do with unf instead of bsf? Reason being they are high tensile, bsf isn't and I have a better choice in sizes. I have nuts for both.

Unfortunately not, I reckon my bushes on the rollbar are about 2" long & I think I need a bit longer on top of that.

Thanks for looking though :-)

Thanks.
