Mint Linux 3 Cassandra Beta

Yesterday I installed Mint Linux 3 Casandra Beta, very nice basically it is the latest Ubuntu -- FeistyFawn honed and polished for a proper desktop installation.
It also has the multimedia bits left out of Feisty for copyright protection reasons.

Having run both Mint Linux 2 and Feisty in the past, I can report the result is a very nice system that looks terrific and is more integrated than Feisty. It draws from both Ubuntu and Mint repositories and a lot of good software such as Picasa, Google Earth downloads and installs without problem.

Interface is Gnome but with most of the Gnome eccentricities removed, a KDE version is on the way.

I've tried running Ubuntu a few times from disc to see what's it all about but each time it crashes when trying to install my monitor (Samsung Syncmaster 940BF)

Tried to find suitable help online with no success so more or less given up on Linux

FreeBSD based. It's not Linux, but it is fast and easy to use.

Well this looks likely to be the bug, hope it helps.
