hi all I am looking to buy my radiator and fan but i am unsure which one i need .I will be fitting it to my mk indy with a zetec. I have been told to use vw polo or escort but when i phoned to order one they asked which one, what size, what year. Can anyone tell me which one they have used and where you got it from. cheers

a VW302 which I believe is from a 1.0 Polo. www.radiatorsonline.co.uk has diagrams so you can double check connection points etc as i didn't use a zetec engine.

As for the fan I bought one from CBS. I just told them the available core height and they sent me a fan which was a perfect fit.

Hope that helps
Nigel

note though that not all polo rads will fit in an MK nose cone, especially the type with the filler cap on the side

VW302 doesn't have a filler cap which is why I used it. i believe the original set up used an expansion tank which is what I've done.

It needs to be fitted at a sloping angle of about 10 degrees to allow hoses to bend around chassis rails but is a decent fit and fills the aperture in the nose cone.

No problems with keeping a 2.0 pinto cool.

this polo Mk2 81-83 1.3 ( 2VW108 ) rad will not fit in the MK as its too wide, pity as the filler would be handy, use the one jabbahutt recommends
