Hi all,
Looking for ideas on what to make wing linings from to stop stone chips cracking gel coat on the wings..
Thanks
Dans
perhaps some nice sticky foam on the underside? neoprene perhaps? doesn't need to be that thick i think

I used a thick coat of underseal, works very well and never suffered any damage
of its the outside you mean then halfords sell a clear flim you just stick on. I used it on the bluebirds bonnet leading edge and you don't
notice unless your looking for it

If it's inside the wings, Car Builder sell some stuff which is meant to prevent damage to the fibreglass that you brush on.
It's £9.50 for a 1kg tin and can be overpianted if you wanted to for any reason. It also protects against water and salt.
Don't know if it's any good but was considering using this after Christmas
Cheers
Nigel
I put "Sound Mat" from CBS in the high impact areas and then "Wonder Seal"/brushable sealer over that.

Camping mat (blue dense ish foam about 5mm thick) stuck on with aerosol adhesive (screwfix or similar).
Sticks like poop to a blanket and seems to be doing the trick on the Fury (which has a LOT of bodywork to chip from underneath etc).
Quite lightweight too.
second vote for underseal - locost too.
I've heard that underseal/shutz can bleed through GRP over time and leave it looking patchy. Of course I heard this AFTER I'd done some of
mine!

Use the stuff thats made for the job "StoneChip " available in aerosol or cans for a shultz type gun.
