The Aries (STM) cockpit is longer than the Caterham cockpit for one thing. Which is a shame because the screen fits very nicely. You might also run into problems with the frame possibly not clearing the roll bar.
In my experience the scuttle placement on Locosts also varies quite a bit fore/aft and therefore a pre-fabbed hood probably won't work without adjustment. The scuttle placement is critical because even if it was a mm or two out you'ld end up with a floppy hood. Because the cockpit is longer it's not even as if you can get a Caterham hood and shorten it, you'ld need to add in new panels. Probably better to start from new and get sewing (mines almost finished
). Otherwise get the car down to Softbitforsevens and ask them to fab one (good service if not the
cheapest). I'm making a hood very similar in design to the Softbitforsevens half-hood. I'm using an old hand-cranked Singer sewing machine (£20 off Ebay and perfect for going through 4 layers of poly webbing!!).... If you can build a kit you can sew a hood.....
