Heated windscreens

Judging by the poxy amount of snow I have just had, and how good a heated front windscreen is at melting the snow/demisting, what are peoples ideas on heated front windscreens for locosts instead of a fan? Does anyone know if they weight much more than a normal screen. also does anyone else make them other than caterham?

Ive seen then for sale in Demon Tweeks. Cost about £350. They cover a lot of popular cars - not sure about kit cars .

Ive heard that some window replacement companies will custom cut glass to fit in your windscreen frame. Im assuming that they replace heated windscreens, maybe they could make you one up, then you would just need the electrical stuff, which if you could find out the current and voltage needed, woudnt be too hard to make yourself, he says.....

I think heated windscreens have the heating elements laminated into or onto them. I doubt they can be cut to size afterwards without wrecking the heating circuit, and I expect you'd have real trouble trying to add heating to a plain glass windscreen. But I stand correctable.
