Hiya,
This is my first Kit Car build and I have got quite far so far, but need as much info as possible with regard to fitting the sleek nosecone I have. I
have spoken to Iain at MNR today and he has pointed me in the right direction, but I just wondered if anyone had any particular pictures of the stages
of the tub cut procedure so I don't screw it all up?
Many Thanks

Thank you for the reply, I will checkout the pictures and take another look at it tonight
Cheers
Nick
Thank you very much, those pictures confirmed what I thought and now I will feel much better cutting the tub tonight to make it fit.
Many Thanks
Nick
Hi, check out our build pictures, too (in my signature).
First fit the tub, this will dictate the position of the scuttle, and nosecone.
Depending on the age of your kit - I presume yours is brand new -, you should not cut the tub at all. We did not have to cut it, as it was the right
fit with the nosecone.
Make sure that you put the bonnet on as well, as that will complete the picture.
We did have to trim the nosecone back lip slightly to clear the two plugs on the chassis tubes at the front.
It should not be difficult, but measure three times, ask someone to help you, ensure that the tub is fixed on symmetrically. Take your time, as any
gaps will be visible afterwards, and will annoy you forever...
Good luck!

Hiya,
Thanks for your replay, no mine is not new as such, its a new build, and the car and components are new, but I took it on from a friend who came to an
untimely end last year in the most awful circumstances. The car is a Kawasaki Green one, and its the first edition frame I believe?
I also believe that not only will I have to cut the tub but will also have to cut some of the bottom of the rear face of the nosecone, as I cannot
imagine it will fit with all the GRP in place, looking closely at Davey's car, it looks like he has taken a bit off the bottom of the nosecone

yes i had to cut out 2x semi circles from the nose cone to stop it hitting the end of the chassis rails. in one of the pictures you can see where i
cut down the straight line, but then cut around the bottom rail, as i had to dremel that instead of jigsawing it
you can see how i cut the body panel in the pics at the top of this page - the 2x bottom rails stick out about 20mm

Okay,
After looking closer at my front end and looking over the pictures of the side view of your pictures (Davey) I can see that I can easily cut off
around 5.5" of lower tub, this means that my Oil Cooler and Radiator mounts are exposed from a side view, but I think im right in saying that
these will be hidden and housed in the nosecone anyway. Can anyone confirm that its okay to cut the front of the tub back to that state? I assume as
long as I don't breach into the lower wishbone mounting holes then this is okay?
Cheers for everyones responses so far.
Nick
