Does anyone have any pics of how they have bolted their cycle wings to the brackets and how they are made S/IVA safe?
I know alot of people sikaflex theirs on but i am planning to put a bolt through each end aswell just to keep it on
I don't have a picture - but I used stainless steel button-head hex screws. Nice and smooth, so should be IVA-proof.
I'll take a picture if needed.
attach a band of ally to the wing stays in an arc that follows the contours of the wheel arch then silkaflex this way you are maximising adhesion you also reduce the potential for starring the fibreglas when stones are kicked up as they will hit the ally not the fibreglass
Found a picture on my website...
The wingstay itself is threaded and screws go into that (no nuts or sticking-out screw to tear at the tyre).
The wing is also PU'd to the stay - belt AND braces!

Exactly as David has done, drill and tap the flat section of the wing stay and then use dome head socket caps to secure + PU adhesive.
Always check (and trim if necessary) the socket caps to make sure the tyre isn't going to foul on them - it'll eat the tyre quite quick
have you ever removed cycle wings that have been sikaflexed on?
you soon realize why bolts aren't needed
I used a domed-head coach bolt from B+Q.
Had to cut it down a bit and had to file the hole in the cycle wing square but otherwise no drama.

Extended mounting strip, single 6mm countersunk screw with countersunk ally washer on each stay, but very light ABS wings.
I used roofing bolts from B&Q. No problem with SVA
